The high-voltage option can scale to ten modules, for 100.8 kWh, and a six-module, low-voltage version to 45 kWh. Freen OÜ is launching its latest generation of sodium-ion battery storage systems. The Freen-BSH and Freen-BSL products are developed and produced in Estonia.
Sodium-ion batteries’ high energy density ensures optimal storage of wind-generated power, minimizing energy losses and maximizing overall system performance. Together, Freen wind turbines and sodium-ion batteries create a fully off-grid solution, ideal for remote locations or areas with unreliable grid access.
While Freen’s lithium-ion systems are priced at €230/kWh, the sodium-ion versions begin at €330/kWh. They are positioned to offer reliable power storage with extended service life and are not subject to transport restrictions that affect lithium-based batteries.
